1976 Bally Night Rider EM

Rebuild

And now the really fun part….putting all of the cleaned original parts and new parts, and hoping that everything fits and “just works”. It never goes that way, lol.

Some of the long-pole activities during this phase:

  • Getting hundreds of switches gapped properly for 100% accuracy in scoring and registration.

  • Tearing down and rebuilding more than a dozen sub-assemblies.

  • Laying out new dimples on the underside of the new, replacement playfield as the new playfield was meant for the solid state version of the game and not its EM counterpart.

  • Re-soldering hundreds of wire harness connection points to the correct parts.

  • Dialing-in the performance of both drop target banks so that they not only score correctly, but they reset properly without pre-mature falling or bricking when hit hard.
